Tuition Rates

All students enrolled at the University of Missouri are required to pay tuition based on the number of credits of instruction they are receiving. Courses taken as a hearer (auditor) are charged at their normal credit value when computing the amount of fees to be paid.

Resident: $284.80 per credit hour*
Non Resident: $856.90 per credit hour ($287.90 tuition + $569 non resident fee)
Midwest Exchange: $431.85 per credit hour**

*For the 2018-19 academic year, the University of Missouri Board of Curators approved a 2.1 percent increase in the Missouri Resident Undergraduate tuition charge, the amount allowed under current state law. However, as a result of an agreement reached with the general assembly to protect the university’s state appropriation, the campus will waive part of that increased charge and will only require payment of 1 percent more than the previous semester in Fall 2018. This waiver will be re-evaluated for Spring 2019 and in future years.

**Mizzou's participation in the Midwest Student Exchange Program ended Fall 2014. Students who were already enrolled prior to Fall 2014 were grandfathered in and permitted to receive the tuition discount so long as they continued to meet all requirements.

Non resident tuition $1,106.70 per credit hour ($1,006.50 tuition + $100.20 School of Health Professions supplemental fee)

Distance Programs

In order to be considered a distance student, the student must be admitted to a distance degree program or non-degree student enrolling in distance courses only. Cost per credit hour for distance/online students is as follows:

Undergraduate Resident - $284.80 *
Undergraduate Non-Resident - $369.70 ($287.90 tuition + $81.80 non-resident fee)
Graduate Resident & Non-Resident - $367.60
Self-paced courses are assessed a $25.00 administrative fee per class
Distance students are assessed the information technology fee and any applicable course fees. Distance students are not assessed campus fees (recreation facility fees, activity fee and health fee) but may opt to pay fees for access to services.

Please note: Undergraduate students admitted to a distance program who elect to take a campus course with a face-to-face meeting will be charged the regular non-resident fee if not a Missouri resident. Please refer to Mizzou Online for a full listing of distance degree programs.
