The dean’s office is comprised of the Office of the Dean, including the Associate Deans, and the key support areas of Student Services, Business Office, Human Resources, Advancement, and Marketing and Communication.

Student Services:

The Office of Student Services in the School of Health Professions is committed to helping students succeed. We provide comprehensive services for students and guidance for parents and faculty in the areas of Recruitment, Scholarships, Admissions, Advising, Retention, Graduation, and Career and Professional Development. The director of Student Services is Ruth Crozier

Business Office:

The Business Office provides budget and fiscal support to the school and its units, and acts as a liaison between department administrators and university business and fiscal staff. Beth Walter is Senior Director of Program/Project Operations and Tammy Winfrey is Director, Business Administration and Fiscal Officer. 

Human Resources:

The SHP Human Resources office provides oversight and best practices for recruitment, employee relations and training and development.  Under the direction of Cathi Veach, HR provides expertise in the areas of policy interpretation, position classification and reclassification and salary and wage guidelines. Cathi is a liaison between SHP units and campus HR, and serves as a resource for department administrators in regards to day-to-day HR activities.

Advancement:

Advancement is the combined effort of alumni relations and development with the goal of keeping SHP faculty, staff, students, alumni, clients, patients and friends engaged in the mission of the school. Advancement Officer Michelle Custer supports the school, departments and programs with their efforts to keep alumni involved and engaged by hosting donor recognition and alumni events, meeting with alumni and donors and sharing our stories in alumni communities. She is also the SHP liaison with the Mizzou Alumni Association.

Strategic Communication and Marketing:

The marketing and communications office is responsible for strategy development and implementation in support of the school and its departments and programs. The team creates communication plans that include advertising, marketing, public relations, traditional and social media, brand management, identity and graphic standards, event support, etc. We coordinate with MU and MU Health marketing and communications to leverage stories about our teaching, research and service, and to actively promote the activities of our faculty, staff, students and alumni. We are the liaison between SHP and members of the media, and can provide media training for faculty. We also prepare formal statements and other official SHP communication for distribution to local and national media and other key constituents.
